Snoring/Sleep Apnea

Our snoring appliances are as good as marriage counseling…almost!

First line therapy for snoring is an oral appliance. These appliances gently hold the jaw in a forward position and prevent the tongue and other soft tissues from sliding back and obstructing the airway. Snoring is often a symptom of another underlying, and much more serious, issue called ‘sleep apnea’. Sleep apnea is a sleeping disorder where breathing actually stops periodically. These episodes not only rob individuals of much needed sleep but are also associated with serious conditions such as cardivascular disease, depression, weight gain, and many others. You may have sleep apnea if you snore loudly and/or feel tired even after a full night’s rest.

At home sleep studies are not intended to replace full sleep studies administered under supervision in a sleep clinic but they provide invaluable information that can assist individuals in their journey towards better sleep.
